A Ride to Blackrock Depths Part 2

Previously on Miko Rides: I took a shady contract from a dwarf in Silvermoon to find a legendary chandelier inside Blackrock Mountain. My first day on the road consisted of dodging endless zombies, swimming around monster camps, and trying to sleep in a creepy Forsaken inn where the beds were literally coffins.

I woke up, left Xol safe and sound at the Sepulcher stables (there was no way he was making this climb with me), and walked straight up to the massive, broken gate spanning the road: the old Gilnean wall.

There might be a good view of Blackrock Mountain from up there

Or maybe not. Look at that fog. I can't even see the stables from here, let alone a volcano.

Well, no turning back now. Time to start the real climb.

After what felt like 5 days of climbing, I finally made it to the top

Kinda glad I wasn't around for the Deathwing days

Maybe I can get a better view from that watch tower thing

I gotta think more clearly about committing to this much climbing in the future

From the crow's nest (if that's what it's called, I know that's what they call this sort of thing on a boat...) I could see mountains in the distance. A little snowy though, the dwarf did say it was more lava-y. Maybe those mountains to the left is what he's talking about.

I knew it would be a long climb back down and I was exhausted already so made camp at the top.

It was almost peaceful looking down there, but wondered if they could see me

Sipping on my tea I wondered how Xolly was doing

When you climb all day long you can sleep about anywhere

The next day, thankfully, it was a lot faster getting down than it was climbing up and was able to get back to Xol about mid-morning. He only growled at me a little bit before letting us resume our journey.

More Forsaken structures heading into Hillsbrad Foothills

This Forsaken woman was surprisingly pleasant and actually gave me great directions. She said I was on the right path and to keep following the road through the Arathi Highlands, but I would need to be careful through there as there's been recent activity between the Horde and Alliance.

Continue heading south through the Wetlands but make a left at the fork, leading up into Loch Modan, and just follow the road south and I'll arrive in the Searing Gorge where the mountain is.

Seriously, do they have to make it *this* scary?

There were some ruins from an old castle nearby and figured I might as well check it out

The sign said this was Durnholde Keep... I feel like I read about this once

Eh, some elementals made me re-think about staying too long

Down the road was another huge wall, this time leading into Arathi Basin

The Forsaken lady was right. There was some Horde and Alliance activity in Arathi Basin. I steered clear of a large human establishment and stayed in the fields, moving around it all.
